i don't know if any of you cats made it out to friday's Tabu show, but if not... you missed some serious dingle. it was their final performance. so it looks like Love Affair Records has been bitch slapped once more. before i bitch about that, i would just like to say that TABU was one of the pioneers of the current BR scene and they deserved a better send off. i hope it will not be their last gasp because i was out of town and i wanted at least one more damn show. they have a cd about to come out, and when it does... those who never got a chance to hear them should pick it up. then you can get a small taste of what you might have missed. RIP TABU - 1997 to 2003.

Love Affair Records is still here with Judge Genius and Poor Harvey. we got some new stuff from both bands about to hit and we got some stuff from the late Tabu and Nail in the Brain about to surface. come get your fill. watch for some updates. JG will be back soon...

Us Against Them canceled. It wasn't us. It was them.

hey, ok. now i'm a huge liar. the show this friday has been cancelled. we were supposed to play with Us Against Them. but apparently Them had to cancel the show, so Us nor Them will be playing. but keep in mind. it wasn't Us. it was Them. by Them, i mean Us Against Them, not Us.

eat me. we're recording some more crap tonight. finally vocals. tonight we'll be almost finished with 1 - 6. and also, we've get a GREAT new video thanks to the very talented director Chris Comeaux. it's Redneck Kumate', captured only in the way Comeaux could get it. look for it soon.

ok, we lied. lied about the shreveport show. but someday... somehow... we will rock our sister city to the north. til then, we'll be rocking our non sister city to the south, SLIDELL. (or as they say there, sly - DULL... or as JG says it, slidle... say it real fast like as close to one syllable as you can. then you're a true gangsta mofo.) down at the Old Town Pub with Us Against Them. we go at 10:30. that's all i know, dammit. now back the fuck up off me.

we're playing BR in August too. August 16 with Seraphim 9. place TBA.

word to you g's out across the land. enjoyed last weekend's "double-set"? the first show went well and we want to thank those who are new to the family and came to see their first JG show. hopefully it won't be your last. cuz that way you won't die. shouts to Maven and the Bullz. shouts to the johnny sea mammallian's as well. if you liked it, come see us again. i wanna thank eric b. from sticky ichy's for helping out on vocal duties. sam's voice was kinda wasted after 2 shows. when asked for a comment about this, sam had this to say:

"uh... i'm not fuckin' Pavaroti. get away from me.... HEY! THAT'S MY FUCKING WALLET!!!"

in other news, JG heads north to battle Shreveport. July 26 with our pals Serephim 9 at the Taylor Town Tavern. be there or (as Jason Jeffirs would say) - SUCK IT!.

how has everyone been doing these last few weeks? i take it you're all good. well, it's time to gear up for the holiday weekend and we're gonna set it all off right. judge genius, the band you've grown to.... um... tolerate, is playing 2 fucking shows on friday night. the first will be an all ages show - a format not exactly new to the members of judge genius, but days far too distant to seem familiar. we'll be playing at the Denham Springs American Legion Hall. yes. you heard me. (or, ahem, read me). we'll be there with MAVEN and the CRETIN BULL DANCERS. it's a johnny seamammal (tm) production. don't ask. just click on his website below for directions and info.
the second show will be over at your eternal fave... Ichabod's with AHAB! and the ballistic missile. its in celebration of a most important event: Eric Broussard's Birthday. he's gonna be loaded and has been known to give out (and take in) massive amounts of alcohol on this occasion. his record last year was a grand total of 28 shots. do him a favor. NO ONE leave this man unattended at any point this evening. he's not an SAE pledge for God's sake.
