Love Affair Records launches Baton Rouge Rocks.com
tonight marks an historic occasion... judge genius goes to new orleans and plays in a reputable bar. believe it or not. we rock NO's famed Tipitina's tonight. we gots a large ass caravan going down and we want you to come with. just call justin or sam or adam. i'd tell you to call paul, talley, and brandon... but they probably won't talk to you. yep. in fact they don't like you.
and more news to pimp. yesterday sam and brandon launched the all newhttp://www.batonrougerocks.comto rave reviews. then we got emails that said that URL don't be working. it's all cool though - go to http://www.familyrobot.addr.comto access the site for a few days. we're having, ahem, issues with our IP but they will be all taken care of in "the next 24 - 72 hours..."(- ADDR.com).
thats it for now. go suck an egg.

Real Talk.
what a weird and wacky weekend. we're fresh home from shreveport, LA... home of Alligator Joe's. First off, i must add that this establishment is quite a fine one indeed. some of the tastiest food, the coldest beer, and a serene view of shreveport's downtown district through massive picture windows. i have to say that its where i would like to go and have a beer, watch a game... what have you. now why this happened, who is to say... but can i tell you that we ran people out of this place like the exodus in egypt. they couldn't wait to get their asses through that door and get the hell away. it was like we were waving guns around, playing death metal or something. either way, that's life.
what we shouldn't have done is berated people as they walked out the door. we should not have called people whores or dickheads from the stage, on the mic. we should have stayed mildly sober for the second set... at 4 in the morning. we could have been a little more accomadating. but there is one thing to remember through all of this. one small thing and here it is: judge genius exists for judge genius. we don't stay together for 4 plus years on accident. we don't write music expecting to ever make it out of this one horse town. we do what we do for us. and we make good music. i know that because people tell us that and they mean it. i know it because i know good music, and the shit that we write is good. it's not the greatest thing ever written. it's no opus; no top 40. we write for ourselves and if you like it then there you go. for every white capped prep that walked out on us, we had some true folk who came up to us after it was over and told us it was good shit. from that show on friday in BR where people stared at us like we were on fire or something to watching people put on thier jackets and scarves in shreve. it's just the way it is, and we understand that.
if any of us really gave a fuck about how we're percieved, we'd be writing straight up limp bizkit radio shit that has no feeling at all, and we'd all be wearing emo clothes, spending thousands and thousands on our image... photo shoots... pretty plastic packaging to really "market the band"... fuck that. we don't do that shit. we write music, and we go places and play it. that's all you get. instead of spending so much time on worrying what we look like and how people see us and what people think, we're writing good shit.
are we rebels? no. we're just a bunch of kids that started playing music. the rock star shit went out the window loooooooooooong ago. but what we still do, in our humble opinions (and we may be biased) is write some of the best original music in baton rouge. we will keep doing this until WE get tired of it. you're invited to come check it out whenever you want to. if you like it, stick around and give us a shout.
thanks to all of you who made the trip on saturday and thank you to poor harvey for taking us up there with you. thanks to all who came out to the spanish moon on friday and thanks to the bands who let us play.
see you at Tipitina's on 12.16 with Delta Crutch and the Method.
peace.
