Great show, packed house.

What up peeps. If you missed the last show with TABU you missed one hell of a night. Both bands were on point and the crowd was awesome. We couldn't even fit all the people outside. Anyway our next show will be Dec 8th at the Renaissance Club in Lafayette, LA. We're opening for our podnuhs in AHAB!. Shoot us an email if you want directions or even a ride. The new JG Taxi Service is now up and running. Plus we actually have been hard at work on the new album....I'm serious. If someone would volunteer to go to all of Justin's jobs and work for him we could get it done a lot faster. Any takers?

It's time for a return of Love Affair Records and the return of TABU. That's right Friday November the 19th. TABU and JG back together again at the North Gate Tavern. It'll be a long night of double duty for Adam and it will be Brandon's last night of being single. He's gettin married the next day, so all you ladies that have wanted a piece of him for years its time to come out and get one. This promises to be a huge show and a very drunk one.

Boy, we sure do have high opinions of ourselves ;)

Much appreciation to all of you who came out to Beatles night and watched Judge Genius prove once again that they are best band to ever walk the earth. National Cancer Family Fund was very pleased with the money we raised for them at this show. Now it's time for a real JG show....Oct 29th at North Gate Tavern. We'll be with our old pals Secret Black Society and special guest from Dallas,TX, Shannon Blystone. This show will be huge (if all of you come). Choctaw from SBS is planning on raffling off one of his guitars. Several record labels will be out to check us all out, so everyone should come dressed as Sam or you fave JG member to show them we have some very dedicated fans. We'll probably make you do stuff to prove your loyalty, but don't worry about that. Be there.

Judge Genius RETURNS!

well well well... after all is said and done, JG returns to the stage in true rock fashion. thanks to all the people who made their way out saturday night. thanks to all the bands that played. thanks to Poor Harvey for putting the party on... we had an unbelieveable time and the set went extremely well. i hope everyone who recieved an new copy of the single is enjoying it and playing it for others. we'll be at the Spanish Moon on Sept 17 with more copies for you. it will be the official return show, with us playing a lot longer than usual. we're hard at work on the new record, scrambling to complete what will showcase the most intense writing we've ever done in our 5 year history. we've recently uncovered a lot of our live recordings and home videos over the years and are briskly reviewing them for possible release. fear not, party people. we're back and better than ever before. prepare yourselves. 2004 is the year of the JG. see you 9-17!

Love Affair's first shows at NGT

well kids, i thought it was time for a little update... since i know so many of you check this website and all. we've been somewhat busy doing things that needed to be done. a lot has changed since May which was JG's last "active" period. Sam, Adam, Mikey, Jason "Choctaw" Hall and Daniel Breaux had a brief stint in forming and even more quickly dismantling a cover band, Justin started recording the Poor Harvey album, continued recording the Poor Harvey album, continued some more, and finally finished the record. Paul and Talley drank a lot. Brandon formed and worked on Vuur. Sam opened a bar called the North Gate Tavern (136 W. Chimes St.). the NGT offers 10 beers on tap and over 40 speciality and micro... er... check out www.NorthGateTavern.com for more details(shameless plug there).
either way to make a long story short, we make our glorious return on August 28th with Poor Harvey, Kristin Diable, Zenbilly, Elsah and scores of others at the North Gate Tavern. it will rock like all things that should rock. we'll be back with more info when time permits. we'll be seeing you soon....

Go see Sam, and pretty much everyone else, drunk at NGT.

This website is really starting to suck. Hopefully we'll change it up soon. Let us know if there is anything you would like to see on here. We are currently on a bit of a hiatus from shows. The recording process has started but is going slow. Sam has opened his new bar (North Gate Tavern-136 Chimes St) and Justin has been working alot with Poor Harvey. Don't fret, however, because we will finish the record within 6.8 years. In the meantime check out www.batonrougerocks.com or go say hello to Sam at the NGT. Chances are we'll all be drunk there anyway.

Last show for awhile, and hints at Sam's new "project".

Howdy kids. It's been a while since the last update. Everyone's been busy. Our next show is Friday May 7th at the Spanish Moon. Poor Harvey and Each Sold Separately will be joining in the festivities. This will probably be our last show for a little while. Sam is busy with his new side project (not music) and we're trying to get this damn album recorded. Yes, we are officially the laziest band in America. We have the trophy and everything. Now go and drink away all your sorrows.

The new JG Album false promises continue...

starting off, we want to congratulate our buds Poor Harvey for their successful trip to NYC and the shows they played there. another br band blazes on. show them, brothers, how we do it down herrr.

we're planning on kicking all of your asses tomorrow night. it's going to be a hella good show. we're in tip top shape, and gearing up to go on hiatus for a little while. that said, you better get you some judge genius before the summer starts, because after that we'll only be available in non music formats for a few months. but fear not, we'll return soon enough. we have an album to promise you about for a long time that we'll never deliver on. there's other business ops some of us are persuing too. don't worry though. nothing will ever stop this band. i swear it.

see you friday. bring helmets.

Your St. Paddy Whines did NOTHING!

well well well. we had a fine time this weekend over at the St. PADDY's extravaganza hosted by our pal Joey. we hope you all did too. we'd like to extend our thanks to the neighbors for calling the police. as you can see, your whines did nothing... we can make as much noise as we want as long as its before 10 and we're not being obscene (this point some may have questioned but no matter!). after many calls to many attorneys and our own pals in the BRPD, we were fairly convinced that we could continue the show and any citations given to our band would have been appealed in court, likely bieng ruled unjustly given. so there you go!

we'll be rocking like motherfuckers at the 415 on Friday April 2nd with our pals Beer Pressure, Bimora (outta Laf), and Canvas Red. this will also be one for the record books. as you may have remembered, rocking out at the 415 is a shitload of fun, and this time will be no exception. we look forward to cursing you all out equally. see you there.

Chins up - Noses Clean.

hello honkies. it's us, with your march update (like you really give a fuck). we'll be playing a St. Patricks Day Party tomorrow on the parade route. I'm not really sure if it's private or not but if you follow the sound, i'm sure they'll let you in. if you'd like to be in attendance, call justin, sam, adam, brandon, talley, or paul. we WILL be at the 415 with Beer Pressure on 4/2. we'll also be playing with the likes of Bimora (from Lafayette) and Canvas Red. this is gonna be a great show.

thanks to all who came out to see us on 2/28. keep your chins up and your noses clean. hopefully we'll see a lot of you tomorrow.

peace.

To all the emo kids, watching in horror...

thanks to everyone for coming out to see us on friday. in case you missed it, it was probably one of the best shows we ever played. much thanks to sam and trey for hosting one of the absolute best venues in east AND west BR parish. to all the emo kids tht were sort of watching in horror... see? it wasn't so bad. we would like to see you all again if you can make it. we'll be at ichabod's on Feb. 28 for the Eric and Beaver Appreciation Party. The lineup continues to change, but i'll be able to give you total confirmation on that in a week or so.

Love Affair gets all civic and shit

people of earth - hear this!
this friday the 13th, your favorite band EVER will be rocking the 415 club down to the ground. judge genius and the secret black society will be playing at our full potential to bring your ears and eyes a dazzling array of sights and sounds. plus we'll be showcasing what little talent we have at a brand new venue... the 415 Club is right over the mississippi river in sunny port allen. cross the bridge and get off at Lobdell/LA 415 (what a coincidence!). turn right off the exit, drive a little ways and look to your right. thar it is in all it's magnificence. it's fresh and clean, opened not too long ago to cater to GOOD music and touring acts. we need to make a good impression on them so show up in force.
also, for all you civic minded folk who plan to be in baton rouge for awhile, the metro council meets tomorrow to decide on an ordinance giving restaurants the right to serve alcohol curbside. there's a few more particulars, but showing up to let your councilman know how you feel is a way to get your voice heard. click at the bottom to find out who represents you and send them an email. and while your out websurfing and screwing around while you're supposed to be working, check out the austin 6. they're a group of people working to change what's wrong with our city and make it somewhere to go. one of their main projects is branding downtown baton rouge and helping it become more then just a ghost town once the workday is through. some of you i'm sure have noticed just some of thier progress. join up and help the cause.

JG @ The Shelter

It's time for another stupid show from your stupid pals in that stupid band Judge Genius. We are actually playing at the Shelter (Richouxs) in downtown BR. We'll be there with Level and Maven so it proves to be an even stupider than normal show. Last time we played there was September 12th 2001. That's right. The day after 9/11 and not a soul was there. I don't even think there was a bartender. We still played and payed the bar 128 dollars for our bar tab. Don't let this happen again. Come to the show. Buy us drinks. Give us your money. Don't make Paul May angry.

Thursday, January 8, 2004

Well.

we'll be playing with our good pals Swerdlove on Jan. 21 at the spanish moon. as for now, we're hard at work on the new JG record. check out www.batonrougerocks.com for info on who's playing where in this ole town.

More:
It's time for another JG get together. This one is at the Spanish Moon on Wednesday Jan 21st with Swerdlove and Stanley's Car. I'm pretty sure we are playing 1st or 2nd so get there early. This will be our first show on a weeknight in eons. But what better way to kick off the new stupid school semester. Also we're making progress on the new album. If you have any suggestions on a title for the record then shoot us an email.

You better hope we see you on Wednesday.

Responsibility Sweaters

I want to give a shout out to all those peeps who came out to the New Years Eve show. And thanx to Brother, Delta Crutch, and Kingsquare. It was a damn fun time and Sam's "Responsibility Sweater" made it even better. We're about to start recording our next record. Quit laughing, I'm serious. It is actually about to happen. Shows for the next couple of months may be few and far between, but keep checking for dates. Don't check the Shows link, just check the News. Keep shaking it like a Polaroid picture.
