the launch of Southern States, 99000 rocks Lake Chuck, and BABIES!

Hey!
Well, all things look like they're a go. Shows have been added. Photos have been taken. Sometime within the next 24 hours, the Southern States facebook page will finally launch, issuing a new/old era of your old pals making music. First show is Aug 29 at Red Star. The band will open for some of our other pals, The Monels. It's gonna be a rocking good time, and everybody's stoked to the core. Come on out and shake it with us.
We're also happy to announce that 99000's trip to Lake Charles last week was a resounding success, as usual. There was much to drink, helping the band to their uncomfortable tradition of driving home hungover as hell the next day. We're gonna be bringing our happy asses back on over there before too long, so Lake Chuck - brace yourselves. For now, the next show is at ye olde Chelsea's here in the BR. As of press time, we're hard at work to bring our friends Lingus back to one of their haunts, but it remains to be seen. Guess there's only one way to find out.

OH! And before we get too long out without mentioning it, Love Affair family member and long time great, Michael Talley, has a new babe on the way. Congrats to him and the very lovely Kat Smith as they welcome another rocker into the fold.

God bless, and keep on rocking.

Sincerely,
The Help

Get your cowboy boots and hats out of the bin. It's time! YEEEEHAW!

We kind of teased it a little bit back in the last post, but there's really no sense in trying to keep burying it. They keep getting together at some behest, and since it looks like nobody has anything better to do on Monday nights, then why not keep it going? There's a new act here at Love Affair thanks to country newcomer Sam Neal, the greatest western music star you've never heard of. But all that's about to change. This guy showed up around town a couple months ago looking for a place to jam. Next thing we know, he's assembled a hodgepodge band full of some misfits he'd culled together around Nashville. Thanks to cohorts like Kentucky "Wild Beaver" Wilson, Guy Starr, and several other dudes who refuse to tell us their names, we think he's gonna be the next big thing. A mixture of standard pop-country delights mixed in with, well, we aren't sure - let's just say that he and his people are slowly working out some of the easiest listening stuff that's ever been considered Love Affair palatable. And even that may be taking it a little too far. Maybe they just need money. Who knows? And really, who cares?

Just head for the Bear Creek Western Store, because whether we like it or not , the SOUTHERN STATES are coming soon.

AMERICA!
